# Fast Protocol

> The only swap on Ethereum that confirms before the block.

Fast Protocol enables sub-second token swaps on Ethereum L1 powered by mev-commit preconfirmations. When you swap through Fast Protocol, a block builder cryptographically commits to including your transaction before the block is produced. That commitment is backed by stake — if the builder breaks it, they get slashed.

## Key Features

- Sub-second swap confirmations (~200ms vs 12s standard)
- mev rewards: at least 90% of the mev your transaction generates is returned to you
- Settled on Ethereum L1 — not a rollup or sidechain
- Gasless approval flow via Permit2

## How It Works

1. User submits a swap through Fast Protocol
2. The transaction routes through FAST RPC to mev-commit network
3. A block builder issues a cryptographic preconfirmation
4. User receives confirmation in ~200ms
5. Transaction settles on-chain in the next Ethereum block
6. mev generated by the transaction is redistributed back to the user
